Our Purpose

The Purple Heart is a veterans’ organization chartered by an act of the 85th Congress in 1958 whose purpose is to raise funds for services, welfare, and rehabilitation in connection with combat wounded U.S. veterans.

The Military Order of the Purple Heart regional service and rehabilitation office is located at 6900 Almeda Road, Houston, Texas 77030; Phone 713-685-5400. The National Headquarters is located outside Washington, D.C. We do hire the handicapped but not exclusively.
